This video is really all about flying around and cruising through the sky so the video is aptly named ‘Cruising’ and its no more complex than that. I wasn’t originally planning to share this but I ultimately decided that I would.

So this video is basically me learning how to use a new video editing suite, stringing together some clips from my X-Plane flying, and trying to have a little fun with the whole thing. I was going to do something more cinematic than I ended up doing but I hadn’t really generated the right kind of concept behind it nor had I mastered the X-Plane camera controls (or used some third party plugins to give me more cinematic control). The other thing that came together is that I’ve been slowly recording short video clips from some of my X-Plane adventures. Seemingly with no strings attached! I decided that I’d cast aside my usual Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro X experience and give this new piece of software a try and the Resolve series has always had a good reputation – one that goes right up to the pro level.
If you aren’t all that interested in video editing software I’ll spare you the details but the fun thing about it is that the basic version is free. Today I learned about an editing suite called DaVinici Resolve 16. This is the very short story behind my latest cinematic – Cruising. The AVI recorder with x-plane puts out beautiful stutter free/ tear free but alas. This system is putting out 50-60 fps on 3/4 graphics settings 1440p, stutter/tear free, but as soon as I start to record with GE Overlay it stutters like crazy on final product. The Geoforce Experience overlay is pretty bad. It's now very easy to make video recordings in X-Plane with sound, and there's no need to use X-Plane's own video recording capability which is somewhat limited.Ĩ/3/19 Yeah, I respectfully disagree. As an even better bonus, sound is also recorded. During the flight, you can place yourself in the passenger seat, or move. In which you can start from an airport gate, sit back, and X-Plane will do the rest. One X-Plane 11 feature comes to mind is the Let A.I. They are saved in your Videos folder under X-Plane. I am not quite sure what you meant by playing a pre-recorded flight or something.

ThanxĪ quick update on this topic for anyone who has an NVidia GTX graphics card. Need recommendation of pro level stutter free (what you see in xp while recording is what you get) screen recording app to bring to Davinci Resolve post. Thus, the advantage of the default video recording is that you can set very high renderings settings (of which your system is usually not capable), but the video appears stutter free and fluidly.Ĩ/3/19 Yeah, I agree.

When you play back the AVI, motion will be in "normal time" and will be frame-perfect, even if you've picked a high framerate, large movie size, and heavy rendering settings.**" If you've picked very high rendering settings, you'll see X-Plane running in what appears to be slow motion while capturing an AVI in replay mode.
Reason - read here: " When you record an AVI movie in replay, X-Plane slows down its playback of the replay as necessary to guarantee that it can render and compress each frame at the framerate you have selected for your AVI. That might be an indication that your rendering settings are too high, so that the sim runs too slow (less than 19 fps).
